5. Oh! A good thing about San Diego

I'm going there this summer, and have always sort of hated the place when I've been there before, but now I'm not absolutely 100% dirt poor anymore (Just poor), so I can afford to go to the zoo/wild animal park. That will be nice.

7. The summer is the worst time to visit San Diego.

October is the best month unless we're having wildfires. Actually any time from after Labor Day through Thanksgiving is good. The crowds are much smaller everywhere, the prices at some places are a little lower, and the weather is much better. July and August are hot and humid. April is another good month with all the flowers in bloom. But the fall is the best.

9. I know, but I have no choice

My gf is moving out there in August to start a doctoral program, and I'm going to help her move. I used to live in LA, where the summers are really awful - at least San Diego isn't as hot.

12. Well, as far as the Zoo or the Wild Animal Park are concerned,

go there either very early in the morning or else in the evening. The animals are active in the morning, but they are asleep all afternoon and it's kind of boring just looking at sleeping animals, so the afternoon is the worst time of day to go there. The San Diego Zoo stays open until either 9 or 10 p.m. in the summer, so in the evening the animals are active again. You can get current information on the hours at http://sandiegozoo.org/
