I've spent the past two months making an art journal for one of my dearest friends. No art journal would be complete without poetry. Here's the May 5 journal entry in this journal, with heartfelt thanks to those who keep poetry alive at DU. :yourock:

7. My friend loves poets and poetry.

I have been incredibly blessed, these past 23 years, to call him "friend for life." He introduced me to one of the great loves of my life, his older brother, and his enduring encouragement made it possible for me to call myself an artist.

Here's a qutoe from Thoreau that describes our long friendship: "Friends...they cherish one another's hopes. They are kind to one another's dreams."
