4. My dear Rising Phoenix!
I admire your bravery, but I would not die for anyone...

My feeling is that once you've died, all your influence is gone...

You cannot do anything even remotely concrete for your loved ones...

I have several people that I love beyond all reason...

But I want to live so that I can have the best effect on their lives...

12. I must but disagree, my dear Peggy.
I think sometimes influence cannot be truly felt until we are gone. Maybe I'm just in the throws of delirious love, but I would do anything for her. For me, finding love has meant finding someone I care about more than myself. Would I want to ever leave her? No. But if I had to sacrifice for the pinnacle of perfection in my universe, I would do it without hesitation. Hope that makes sense.

I've had feelings like that myself...

But my hard-headed side feels differently...

You are more than entitled to your feelings! I would never argue with such a great love as you have for her...

26. I'm a bit of a dreamer...
actually, probably borderline quixotic.. :P For some reason, no matter how angry I am going, I cannot wakeup mad or hopeless. It probably stems from my childhood; I've always had this feeling, or intution, that i was going to do great things, but I don't know what it is or how I'm going to get there. She keeps me grounded and reminds me from time to time that it's only windmills in the distance....

5. My Husband and Kids....
I'd do anything in the world for them, even die for them.

Reminds me of the movie "John Q" and how he was willing to kill himself to give his kid his heart. I'd do the same under those circumstances.

I will follow this woman to hell and back. I will rejoice in the good times, and keep strong in the bad. I will give her my everything, and expect nothing in return. I will allow myself to be completely vulnerable, and will not complain. She is my twin flame.

29. I do. My three kids and their father.
After that it gets complicated, because if I die, my children lose their mother which would be a very terrible thing. Had I no kids though, I'd give my life for my sisters and their children.

32. The real crim son appears
I keep seeing crimsonblue and I think oh there's ... wait, it isn't her

:hi:

I would give my life for my son, I will have to think on the rest, but I'd have to think about it further because it does get complicated after that if my son lost his dad. I'd give my life for his mother as I think that he would be in worse off if he lost his mother than his father.

At this time, I'd have to stop it right there. I mean there are people that I think "I'd give my life up to save them if they were in trouble", then if I think about it in terms of what that would mean to my son, you're right.

Had I no kids, It's not a long list, but there's a few people yeah

:hi:

43. I'm not sure it is ever possible
to know until you are faced with the opportunity (poor choice of words, perhaps :))

I think in life threatening situations, we all have the capacity to surprise ourselves (not for long if we've given our lives, of course) by dying for someone or something you never would have thought of dying for. Also, we might do something that could cause our death without thinking we were dying for someone (diving into water to save someone who is drowning, for example). I think we have instincts which we may not be aware of until they are triggered. Its sort of like the say, "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water" (don't know if I got the saying right but you get the point).

52. Speaking honestly
I would say that in some type of romantic tripe but truthfully in my heart I would know I was a coward and could never do that if given the choice.

Then Little Robot came along and I know that I would lay down in the highway for her, and all I would do would be to ask for some Tylenol first so it did not hurt quite so much. I know at some point her actions and choices are going to disappoint and hurt me even, but I feel now that I would always give her the world. My life included.

There are people for whom I wish I would die, for whom I would give any help possible and listen to any thing necessary, but I agree with Peggy upthread that death solves no issues but the issue of life, and I would rather be loved in life than only truly realized after my death. I have a feeling that dying for them would only sadden these people, not improve their lives, which I do not want to do to those I love.

ETA: I saw a quote once--somewhere!--that sums my feelings up perfectly: "It is harder yet more lasting to live for someone than to die for him."
