Is it possible to be addicted to dairy? |
|
I drink 1/2 gallon a milk per day (meals w/o milk are weird to me), eat yogurt (fruity kinds) like there's no tomorrow, have cheese on anything, eat ice cream by the pint (finish off with a nice glass of milk).
I've been like this for as long as I can remember, but now I realize this isn't typical - lol.
Any others like this out there?

2. Nothing's better than an ice cold glass of milk. |
|
I eat cheddar by the block when I'm watching football.
Cookies and cream, vanilla and mint chocolate chip ice cream were put on earth solely to make me fat.
So, no, I don't think there's anybody like you out here. :-)

6. My mother used to do that |
|
drink like 1/2 gal/day and still have room for ice cream and yogurt too.
Turned out she had a dairy allergy. She lost something like 40 lbs when the doc made her stop consuming it. :P
But if you enjoy it, go for it!

8. Casomorphines make dairy addictive. |
|
They trigger the same brain receptors as opiates (hence the name.) Presumably they're in the milk of mammals in small quantities to encourage the infant to nurse regularly, but they become much more concentrated in some dairy-derived products, notably cheese and ice cream, and can have significant addictive effects.

I couldn't remember the name for the addicting part, other than that it was related to casein. Thanks for all that info! :)

10. Same here. ...For an extra treat, keep an empty glass in the freezer at all times. |

When you drink milk, use the freezer glass...tastes great and super cold. For even more taste, I put 2 packets of "Equal" in my Milk.

Dairy is supposed to cause congestion or phlegm. Do you have a problem with congestion? If not, enjoy your treat. Nothing wrong a little indulgence.
