Why do some concert venues have curfews? |
|
I've always been under the impression that it was because of union rules, and that fines will be incurred if an act goes over the curfew time. True? (I'm sure location relative to residential areas is also a factor.)

2. Could be a wage (union or not) thing, or a zoning requirement. |

4. Completely a Union thing..... |
|
nd there are a lot of unions involved usually. Stagehands, truck drivers, lighting and sound technicians, security, food vendors, police etc...(This is mostly true in publically owned buildings, not so much in privately owned facilites.
Some however have curfews due to neighborhood issues. Some may have made a deal with curfew in order to get teh facility built. Some may have made a curfew deal in order to keep the facility open.

of people who live nearby and can hear the ruckus.
I used to live a few miles from a large amphitheater, and could frequently hear the bands very clearly, depending on the weather. They don't want the noise going into the wee hours.

6. A local venue near me not only has a curfew |
|
but they had to lower the volume of the performances once more and more residential homes spread into the area.
