Looking for a little reassurance
Both of my boys (12 & 7) are going to the dentist tomorrow. They'll both be getting nitrous while the work is done. I'm just a wee bit nervous about it. It's been over 20 years since I used nitrous at the dentist and I remember it being very disorienting.

Someone remind me that my boys will be fine.

Thanks.

1. As long as they're not driving home I'm sure they'll be fine. :)

I've had stuff much stronger than Nitrous, and I turned out OK. Or did I?

3. Your boys will be fine.
:)

Just keep them home all day and don't send them back to school.

7. Nitrous Oxide is a pretty safe sedative.
Its main advantage is that it's easy for the dentist to administer just the right amount, so long as he/she is in communication with them while it's being administered. Your boys are both old enough that they'll be able to give the dentist good feedback on how they're feeling as it's being administered, compared to say, a three year old.

After everything's over, they'll likely get a few minutes of pure oxygen, which flushes everything out of their system pretty well.
