Well, I got my first taste of the Bush economy.. I had applied for a job a few weeks ago, and the man running it had pretty much offered me the job on the spot. I rocked the interview. I knew him previously, and it was a sure thing. I've been waiting back to hear from him, and I called him today. He said that my application and all that were approved, but that they were waiting on the financial assessments before they could hire anyone. They are having a significant downturn in funding this year, so they may have to lay of 3/4 of their staff if it does not pick up. Thank you King George, now I get to scramble to find a replacement job so I can pay rent and save some money for my new life. UGGGGH. I could use a drink (I'm by no means a heavy drinker, but I stopped altogether out of solidarity for my amazing fiancée).

Three of the places I've looked for work, including a place I've worked before and thought for sure would have room for me, aren't hiring. A fourth place I've been looking into for months and have made many phone calls about and interviewed for won't even be starting up until mid-June. At that point, it wouldn't make much sense for them to hire me for only 2.5 months. There aren't any tutoring companies hiring for anything besides math tutoring, which I don't do. I guess nobody wants to pay for their kids to get help with reading and writing and research skills.
That has left me with a bunch of time for campaign work. No money there, but at least it will get me out of the house until I hopefully get something that will provide a paycheck.
