'Darth Vader' spared jail in Jedi church attacks

HOLYHEAD, Wales (AP) — A man who dressed up as Darth Vader, wearing a garbage bag for a cape, and assaulted the founders of a group calling itself the Jedi church was given a suspended sentence Tuesday.

Arwel Wynne Hughes, 27, attacked Jedi church founder Barney Jones — aka Master Jonba Hehol — with a metal crutch, hitting him on the head, prosecutors told Holyhead Magistrates' Court.

2. That's just silly.

First off, I actually HAVE lightsabers. I wouldn't have to use a metal crutch. Second, I was planning on making either a Qui-Gonn Jinn costume or perhaps a set of Mandalorian combat armor if I can get ahold of a vacuform table. (and if not, I've done a little bit of work with thin metal sheets, if I had something to substitute as an anvil that I could use to hammer it into shape on I could do that.) Third, I drink good stuff. :P
