My Mom is killing me

We have a lot of the same friends. She insists I should not let them know i'm gay. Oh yeah, man in his 40's no wife no girlfriend - major clue?

I told her to remember when I first came out. I slit my wrists because death was less scary. And she want's to put me through that again,

I love her, but sometimes I hate her.

My dad's even worse - he thinks all gay people molest kids.

Can I kill them?

I'm 35, single, and haven't had a girlfriend since I was in my early 20s.

Anyway, I think you should just be yourself. You'll get more respect in the long run unless your friends are morans- in which case they are not worthy of your friendship.

All kidding aside, be who you are, and turn everyone around your parents into more open minded people. Let your parents be the last to finally "get it." When they find out their friends all know and their friends are all more open minded than they have been, it will change their attitude, somewhat. That will teach them better than anything else you can do. I know. I've had to do just that in my life.
