Hey... The Tigers did not lose....
Of course, they did not play...

...so there's that...

I still expect excellent things from them. People here (in Detroit) are too panicky.

1. I still rock my Tigers cap.
Of course these days I tell people the D stands for David. :7

I hope my second favorite team gets the ship righted soon.

2. They will.
I do think they made some rather hasty moves (i.e. getting rid of Jones who has always been a slow starter) like messing around with the lineup so much. I'm actually thinking that they'll reverse the trend. They usually start off with a bang and then fade after the All Star Game, so this year it will be different. I can feel it in my bones.

3. Maybe they'll heat up with the weather.
I'll keep a good thought for them.

4. A quote from Magglio last season (after a game in 32 degree weather)
"For the first time I was scared out there. People in Venezuela...they die in weather like this." He said it so emphatically and seriously that WannaB and I just laughed and laughed. We do have a large contingent of Hispanics (all of them gorgeous) on the team so that could be a factor.

6. I couldn't help but laugh either, BUT...
...32 is no temperature for playing baseball, except on video games.

8. I know and we were AT that game (me and Wannabe). On the metal
seats. MrG had to put a heating pad and about 8 blankets on me when we got home. The wind really whips around Comerica...

9. If it's all the same, I'll visit Comerica in summer.
Of course, the Disastros had to close their roof today because it was so hot. It's only May. Long, hot summer anyone?

10. A serious question GOP...
Edited on Mon May-19-08 09:15 PM by MrsGrumpy
Relatives of mine have recently moved to Houston. I have visited them twice and both times (winter) my RA was much better. Plus the housing was so cheap and I find myself wanting to run away from the memories here that haunt me everywhere. The relative is my husband's closest cousin (and his wife, whom I adore). I am seriously considering a move but...

...do you like it there??? I mean, I know you live in Austin so there is a difference... I mean "keeping Austin weird" and all. I was just wondering if you knew much about Houston.

13. I know a bit about Houston.
Houston has a slightly different climate (I think it's more humid, but not quite as hot). It's also HUGE! It's all sprawl. But, you can get most things done in your part of town. It's sort of like Los Angeles in that there are a series of smaller cities surrounding the main city. There are some really nice parts of Houston. If I don't know something, there are lots of Houstonians in the Texas forums. We'd all be happy to help out.

15. That is a fairly nice area.
I have some good friends in that area. In fact I think Richardo lives out near there.

That's the closest part to Austin, too. :D

18. Richardo?
I love Richardo.

And I love Austin.

And my brother is considering moving to Austin since the COL is much less and the movie biz is booming there.

:)

19. Oh yes, Richardo is a Houstonian.
I even met him for lunch in NW Houston once.

The film business is doing pretty well in this area. Robert Rodriguez is based here. Quentin Tarantino has filmed here, too.

There is a lot to like about Texas. Plenty of DUers here to give a welcome if you came down.

20. Thank you for the info...
Living up here is just about killing me. This was Leonard's state. I loved it (after hating it for years) because he loved it. It haunts me now. The only thing I have to lose is my Daddy. That's about it. Nothing else.

Thanks for taking the time to give me some information.

21. Anytime.
If you need more info, let me know.

I suggest visiting in August or early September to make sure you can deal with the heat. That's the hottest part of the year. :)

7. Yay us!
:bounce:

You have A Rod and Jeter so I can't hate you very much for liking the Yankees.

I can't believe they are either, but I still believe they will be meeting up again in the playoffs.

11. I hope so.
I know it's early but the Yanks may have a hard time getting into the playoffs...I do hope that this year is like the last few when the Yanks started slow but then came on in the second half.

We shall see.

12. You didn't have A Rod for ever so long...
Once a team gets back together, things change. It happened for us after Curtis came back. Of course, now he is slumping...but that won't last forever.
