i have been working on the same video for about 5 days now.. why so long? well, after every few edits, the editing program(and sometimes the whole computer) crashes. YIPEE!! windows absolutely sucks and just isn't compatible with the amount of video editing i do. IF i ever finish this video, it will be the last i make for a long time, because I'm going to have to get a new computer(preferably a mac) in order to do more editing in the future, and considering i'm broke that might be awhile.

dammit. shit.

1. If I were you, I would check to see if the software you are using

has any updates or patches. That may resolve your problems.

as i said, i'm broke. also, the software i'm using isn't all that great to begin with.. before updating it, i'd rather just save up the money to get a program that will actually last me longer than a few months tops.

7. Hope you're not using Windows Movie Maker

I had a client who made about 30 or so videos with it and then installed a better video editing program...well, that program killed windows movie maker (even after uninstalling the better program) and I had to reformat her computer so she could edit her videos...and as a rule I only reformat as an absolute last resort :mad:

11. hey - pinnacle has a decent editing

program for $49 - I know you're broke, but ANYTHING is better than the Windows editing program - if you're using the one that comes with Windows (which version, by the way?) it really isn't designed to do much of anything. Just window-dressing.

But pinnacle Studio version 11 is pretty good. I have info on one of my websites, if you're interested: http://www.tektree.com/pinnacle.html

My husband does A LOT of editing; I asked him what might be an affordable program (b/c so much video stuff is sooooo $$$$) and he suggested pinnacle.
