But perhaps they are trying to minimize issues with tardiness and absenteeism from employees who rely on public transportation for whatever reason (not that getting stuck in traffic, broken-down cards, etc.) aren't also problems). Maybe it has to do with immigration issues.
Just another hoop to jump through for all the wage slaves out there.

My staff that take the bus are almost *never* late, but my staff that drive are always calling me "I'm stuck in traffic, I'm going to be late" or "My car broke down" etc etc.
