1. I used to go to shows before they banned smoking indoors |
|
When they'd hit the lights on the stage you could see this huge cloud of smoke over everybody. Mostly cigarette smoke I'd say, but I'm sure some pot smoke as well. I've smoked both at concerts.
Now days you'd have to pay me a lot of money to sit in an environment like that for 3 hours.

2. If it was pot smoke I would be okay...... |
|
But ciggy smoke, Yeach. That is what I love about Hippies. they don't smoke cigs indoors but puff all the weed in the world.
Once at a String Cheese Incident show at the Berkeley Community Theater, the pot smoke was so thick, that the light guys could not get the lights to the stage from the balcony. So they just payed with the huge thick cloud of CA's finest. Funny shit. Couldn't even see the band at all thorugh it.....

3. Yeah, I can't do marijuana now days or be around it |
|
I just got hit for a random drug test at work a couple of days ago. If you want to be a trucker you pretty much have to keep the pee clean now days. One positive drug test and your career is over.
But I don't think I'd smoke pot anyways now days even if I didn't have anything to worry about job-wise. My natural state of mind is detached from reality and I have to take pills to keep me "sober." :)

9. Biggest ganja clouds in my entire life... |
|
...were at the Cow Palace in Daly City, 1974, with Grand Funk Railroad headlining (the "Shinin' On" tour, which became their "Caught In The Act" live album). Opening act was Wet Willie, followed by the Climax Blues Band and then Grand Funk.
You could see these clouds moving throughout the entire show...big, thick, ominous. Guitarist Mark Farner dedicates "Inside Looking Out" on the "Caught In The Act" album to "everybody in here who's putting that funky smell into the air...we want you to blow some up this way!"
No shit...I'll bet Bob Marley would have walked out of there, shaking his head..."Too much for me, mon..."
