Just got a call. My mom fell out of bed and is hurt.

Everything is wrong.

I am going to go see her now to see whats up.

And I'm telling you this why?

Because that is what you do when you fucking need to tell someone.

I wish my sisters were here.

4. UPDATE

She has a huge bruise on her back and she cannot take a deep breath.

The nurses said since her vitals were good, the doctor would not be seeing her.

I asked if she had been checked for a broken rib, and they just stared at me. So I through a fit with the nursing supervisor.

They will x-ray her soon, and I will follow up in a few hours.

Right when all this was going on...I was dumped...broken up with.

So, I will make sure my mom is ok. Then I will call my sisters and have them share some of this responsibility.

Then, I am going to drink myself into another reality.

7. Xrays should have been the first

thing they got orders for if she can't take a deep breath without pain. Sounds like a broken rib to me. What kind of lame place is she in anyway?

I tell you, I'm really scared for the care of the elderly anymore. It seems like the majority of the people training for jobs in these places are only doing so because those are the jobs to be had these days, not because it's something they feel called to do. There are still some really caring caregivers but they seem to get fewer and fewer all the time.

Glad she didn't break a hip, at least. She's going to hurt for awhile. Sorry you are hurting, too. Maybe that hurt can be redirected to help her overcome hers.

I feel like a douchebag.

I have been yanking out bushes all day, and I was filthy and stinking. The nurses didn't seem to give a shit, so I yelled at them, and I feel bad for that. I'm sure they thought i was crazy.

Then I had a talk with the nursing supervisor.

I tried to be polite, but they were blowing me off, so I yelled like a lunatic.

I feel terrible. But, it's my mom, ya know?

have fond memories of having been able to help her.
An only child, I sensed during a phone call something was amiss,
hung up and drove 7 hours to catch her when she passed out and
preventing her from falling plus I was there to summon an ambulance.
It is tough for you but tougher for her, I wish you both the very best.
