What's the name of that too long horrible piece of shit prog-rock song you sometimes hear
on classic rock stations. I'm thinking it's Yes.

After the third or forth complete sound change, there's an interlude with the singer going

da da da da daaaaah daaaaaah daht! da da da da daaaaah daaaaaah daht!

It's one of those songs that's so bad you lay there in bed listening to it on your alarm clock just hoping that the DJ says the name of the should-have-been-executed conspirators who released it into the wild.

Yeah, that one.

Are definitely from that song. You've misled me.

6. Smoke on the Water . No.
Edited on Thu May-29-08 08:54 AM by DS1
First, it's an instrument doing it, second, there's only da da daaaaah

This song is not Smoke on the Water, it's different. Very different. It's a human, white, probably male singing da da da da daaaaah daaaaaah daht! in a high-pitched voice

9. That's definitely the singer
but that's not it. That's actually quite good compared to this catastrophuck I heard earlier.

The song I'm talking about has to be at least 7 minutes, it felt like a solid half hour though.

Edited on Thu May-29-08 08:28 PM by KamaAina
not that I ever heard of. Next you'll be telling me Joe Cocker has autism. :-)

Actually you probably have seen a singer who has autism, or Asperger's at any rate, in action -- none other than David Byrne.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Byrne_%28musician%29#Recent_activity

Byrne was profiled in the New York Times in January, 2007. The article refers to his April 15, 2006 journal entry, in which he wrote: “I was a peculiar young man — borderline Asperger's, I would guess.”

Score one for our team!

edit: oh right, we do not "suffer" from autism. We merely "have" it.

please don't diss Yes.

The only Yes song I can think of that has that interlude is "Sound Chaser" but I doubt you'd hear it on any Classic Rock station. It's just too obscure.

30. I still think it's "Roundabout"
The "da da da da daaaaah daaaaaah daht! da da da da daaaaah daaaaaah daht!" is in the song, but it's really close to the end.
And the song's insufferably long, too. Over eight minutes.

The Eagles would be on that list too

And The Who.

I'm not big into all prog rock, but I enjoy Yes. I think Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, and Chris Squire are tops in their fields (guitar, keyboards, and bass).
