Help! I need new shoes. What kinds are best. |
|
I have to walk a lot but I also need something that is good in water. My feet get wet a lot. And I need something that will be comfortable this summer walking in the heat and humidity.
Any ideas?
I went up to Dicks yesterday and saw some "water shoes." Anybody know if they are comfortable and sturdy. I need something tough.

Nam era jungle boots work well.
Water drains through the vents and they dry quickly because of the webbing. Ankle support, and the steel shank protects from sharps as well as giving instep support.
Any surplus store will have them, but watch for knock-offs.
Danier makes "Cop boots" (womens' styles, also) based on the design; all black, even the webbing, and designed for comfort on foot patrol or traffic posts. Pricier, but wet feet and aching arches justify the sacrifice.

She prefers mens' boots for gardening and hiking. Hate to sound like a shill, but Zappos has an amazing collection of Dr Martens. http://www.zappos.com/n/br/b/49/Dr.Martens.html:hi:

They're light weight & extremely comfortable. I spend a good portion of my day on my feet & don't hobble around when I get home.

10. I got some Teva sandals and a pair of Vibrom (?) |
|
I love Teva sandals but it takes a while for my feet to get used to them. And I tend to trip on carpets.
But these other shoes are really cool. They are like Nikes or something but they are made of web material on top so they can handle water. And they are really comfortable.
