Sitting here, drinking wine and realizing with great pleasure
that Barack Obama will probably win the nomination, may well be our next POTUS, and republicans are going to help elect him. I've never know so many repukes willing, nay, eager to vote against the repuke candidate.

Warm weather, a glass of wine and a Democrat as President. What could be sweeter?

(my apologies to those who support Clinton but think: anybody is better than McCain. even Obama)

I'm not interested in an argument; merely kicking back and enjoying.

However, I apologize if I offend. Perhaps the mods will move this?

19. Well then, I may soon be switching back to real wine.
What goes around, comes around. I remember shortly after being married, being invited to a party at the inlaws' place. They served wine from a box and I was AGHAST! Yeah, how times change. :eyes:

26. My friends and I once got trashed off a box of wine.
It was cheap, easy, and didn't taste bad, but my friend puked in his kitchen sink, so that could be considered a downside.

I tend not to drink to the puking stage so I can handle the $9/litre stuff.

You know what, girl? We must hook up, sit together with our feet up on the coffee table, and drink cheap wine while we discuss what it is exactly about men that drives us insane. I've been pondering that question alot in the last few weeks. :P

Except if you happen to be up here in Maine, we'll huddle by the fire as we drink our wine and discuss. Warm weather during the day doesn't = warm weather in the evening. Of course, we could always start at breakfast!

You should visit. Nobody ever visits Maine. Well, not this part of Maine. :(

Visit quickly then, my house is for sale. He's not my neighbor, but he's my neighbor's neighbor i.e. he's two doors down. Also three doors down since he bought the house next to his original one. Let's see...

I'm two doors to the left. Of course his house is much grander. :) I wish I could say that our proximity makes me more interesting but in fact I think it does the opposite.

My father, my mother and my repuke sister have gone Obama. The boyfriend, his mother, sister et all... Obama. The repuke neighbors next door... Obama. I hear it all the time when I'm out because this is a republican town (or at least the losers who are out when I'm out are republicans) - Obama, Obama, Obama.

I hope so. I'll take Clinton over McCain any day, but I'm feeling very optimistic about Obama.

He always wants us to sit down on the floor so we can either:

a) read to him

c) play with trucks, ideally crashing them into each other.

Ptah, the white that isn't flowers. Is it sunlight? And I hope those poor cows are drinking decaf... :D

59. Yes, the spots of sunlight do distract from the picnic in the sequoias
Here's another view.

60. The sunlight distracts
only because it isn't immediately clear what it is.

Tell me... are those sunflowers?

64. Laughing.
What else?

I spent my day in the garden, undoing the damage of the past two years of depression-induced neglect. I've so far edged about 70% of it, weeded and mulched about the same. Since the wild rose moved itself down a few feet, I planted pole beans in its old location. Beans, peas, sweet peas, tomatoes, gypsy peppers and lots and lots of herbs. These are all mixed in with the flowers: roses - lots - sedum, astilbe, geranium, hollyhock, liatris, delphinium, red cardinal vine, nicotiana, hosta, bleeding heart, day lilies and oriental lilies... and tons more. The worst thing about moving (if it ever happens) will be leaving the garden. However I will steal pots and cuttings of everything, enough to cover an acre...

I like the fact that you garden.

Oh shaddup, you! I only drink because your rejection is a wound that can never heal. :P

You? Sober? Or what? And I want to know more about your trip.

And I had mixed feelings about TLKoS. Good film but frustrating to watch. It rather explains too neatly and probably accurately, how evil persons come to power.

Oh SA. I'm glad we're "talking" again.

Did your friend do anything exciting/interesting to which I should be privy?

Actually, my friend drew a rough-draft sketch for the cover of my book. Once I get it scanned, I can send it to you.

96. I am still completely disillusioned and confounded at how these current assholes ...
ever got onto the White House in the first place. Especially that god damned buffoon dubya, that can't even complete a sentence or speak plain English.

Don't even get me started. The leader of the "free world" says

"noo-cu-lur",

for christ sakes.
