2. I need dates, times, channels/station name |
|
Also, unless it is local to Columbus Ohio, lets keep it to national channels. Please keep in mind I don't actually have a TV or really watch much TV, so I don't know what a lot of shows are or when they are on.

5. Keith Olbermann's Countdown, 8pm EST on MSNBC. |
|
Help him continue to defeat Bill O'Reilly in the ratings, which Bill inexplicably thinks is due to ratings "fixing" by Nielsen.
The Rachel Maddow Show immediately follows.

|
Pushing Daisies - it's usually on Wed., at 8:00pm on ABC, but not for the next two weeks.
It is one of the best original shows on tv, and therefore up for cancellation. I don't usually beg for people to watch a show, and you may not totally get it in the middle of the storyline, but it's fantastic, and the actors are all worth turning the tv on for.

OK, I guess that needs an explanation :)
I lost everything in a fire about two months ago, I don't own a TV right now. When my insurance money finaly gets here and I buy a TV though, I promise to give it a watch. Also, sorry but if it is not on in the week starting 11/6, I can't put it in the rating diary :(

|
Family Guy (Sunday night), Venture Brothers (Adult Swim on Cartoon Network), Daily Show & Colbert Report (Comedy Central), and Life on Mars (Thursday nights at 10) and Pushing Daisies are ok.
I don't actually get to watch the cable shows until the DVD comes out or online.

23. So are you any relation to Fred Nielsen from Columbus Ohio? |

Tee Hee. Supposedly one "childhood myths" that some people carry into adulthood is that "Nielsen families" are actually named Nielsen.

About two months ago, I had a fire and had to move. I have wondered for a long time how Nielsen people were picked, before today I had never even heard of someone that knew someone that was a Nielsen person. It just came in the mail, I have no idea how they picked me but hey... They even included $4 in the envelope!
Where were these guys when Firefly and Farscape were on TV?

I guess Medium is off the radar then...and Jericho. The only one I mentioned that will be on that week is Ghost Whisperer. It is on Fridays on CBS at 8:00 PM
The others have mid season season beginnings (January for Medium)

44. Just tell them Battlestar Galactica 24/7 |
|
We were a Nielsen family way back in the 70s(?) and I remember that I was embarrassed to admit that I watched the Incredible Hulk so I lied on my diary. I figure if a 10 year old is embarrassed enough to lie then probably the Nielsen ratings don't mean as much as they think they do. Except that's sort of a scary thought because if more people are watching American Idol than say they are? Idiocracy here we come

I also third or fourth the Maddow, Olberman, and House.
This is going to be horrible, but I would also add this new animated Star Wars cartoon. I don't know why or how, but it has captured my attention.
The Oblongs, if any come into schedule. Monk. Metalocalypse. NCIS. CSI. Perhaps Robot Chicken. Simpsons. Futurama.

49. try some BBC America, if you have it. |
|
- Doctor Who premieres on Saturday at 9pm ET - repeated later at 12am ET and 3am ET.
- BBC World News America airs at 7pm and 10pm ET - Monday-Friday (except Friday 10pm is replaced by Newsnight - that's good to watch too). If you're an early bird and like more international news for breakfast then between 6am and 9am ET BBC America relays BBC World's coverage.
- Friday is good for Monty Python fans... 8pm and 11pm
- Monday is Top Gear night: 8pm, 9pm, 11pm and 12am ET.
- And finally Wednesday November 12th (my birthday!) - a special at 9pm ET "BBC America Reveals" - my
100,000 lovers... a documentary about sex addicts.
Enjoy!
