Midsomer Murders----SPOILER |
|
I just saw "Midsomer murders: Dead man's eleven." This is the second of the series I've seen and probably it will be the last.
There are events that really strain the imagination, even for a mystery. Mainly, that the perp would murder Cavendish's housekeeper so that she could get the housekeeper's job. :wtf:
That was, at the least, taking a big chance. How could she be sure they'd hire her for the replacement?

3. It's no longer on American TV--you have to watch it on DVD |
|
They're up to Vol. 11 of the DVDs, which are the last four to be shown on A&E and Biography. Volume 12 comes out in March, and it will feature episodes that were never shown in the U.S.
Anyway, I agree that Midsomer Murders can be hokey, but I like it for that reason. :-)

5. Buy a region-free player and you can order them direct from Amazon UK |

often cheaper than they are in the U.S., thanks to frequent sales. Multi-disc volumes of Inspector Morse sell for between $65-80 here, but I got one that just happened to consist entirely of episodes I didn't remember for the equivalent of $35. A volume of Wire in the Blood went for $13. They include DVDs that have never been released here and probably won't be.
Best of all, a region-free player costs only about $20 more than a conventional player with comparable features.

I saw a Poirot DVD set at Barnes and Noble, but didn't have time to look closely at it...And Morse is just a straight-up badass -- i'll have to track those down...
