I just don't think it's unreasonable to expect her to save the money she earns so that she's not asking us. ESPECIALLY since her father's checks were screwed up because they didn't think he had returned to work after he was in the hospital.

I told my husband the other day that there has to be a happy medium between one of my friends who essentially does everything for her kids and buys everything they want and another person I know who made her kids buy all of their clothes, extra foods. etc. (and money wasn't an issue.
