Poll question: thanksgiving with my in-laws is approaching. |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-15-08 11:51 AM by ulysses
I fear that the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments over the election might ruin my enjoyment of the turkey, which will have been deep-fried to dessication.
So what should I do instead of eating?

I like the first option myself....Fortunately for me, I'm spending T-day with another DU'er (JerseyGirlDem) and her liberal family/friends.....:)

4. BWAHAHA! You need an "all of the above" option! |
|
My almost-in-laws (where we're spending Thanksgiving) are all hardcore dems, and I'm EXTREMELY grateful for that.

I think the fact that you won't be able to stop smiling the whole time will be the best revenge. :7

7. I voted for the reading. |
|
Just the visual works for me, though I understand The Audacity of Hope makes an ideal Xmas gift. Remember the old days when religion and politics were not discussed in polite conversation? I think that is how we got so fucked up.

encompasses some real ringers - the odor of brimstone is never too far off with these folks. Since I'm family, they tend to not hold anything back.
At least I hope they don't. If what I get to hear is the bowdlerized version, then I don't want to know what they talk about when I'm *not* around.

9. In which case I want to change my vote! |
|
Chris needs a few new vocabulary words. Only if they gang up you, but it's better to be prepared. You have both politics and religion working against you, not to mention what they do to that poor turkey.
I am lucky, the religious ones in my family feel it makes them superior to me, so they don’t want to take a chance I might convert and take their edge away. However, I have confused them enough politically so at least they didn’t cancel out my vote.

15. Offer a prayer of thanks for the election of President Obama. |
|
You will probably get to eat a lot more leftovers. Also, ask to take a few guns home with you. Tell them guns won't be confiscated from Democrats. And yes, pics please.

if anyone asks why, tell them it's a secret. If pressed, admit to voting for the winner in this years presidential election. And say that Sarah Palin was such a 19th century candidate.

Luckily I spend Thanksgiving with Democrats but they're rich fat consuming Democrats, WHICH I would not hold against them if they didn't treat me like I'm a weirdo for not eating meat or making babies.. or appreciating how much they spent on their cars :eyes: :puke: I DREAD thanksgiving, I can't wait until it's over.
