*Sniff*...Sunday night childhood memories... |
|
1) Watching Ed Sullivan.
2) Sneaking into the kitchen and getting a can opener and a can of Campbell's vegetable beef soup.
3) Tip toeing into the bathroom and opening the soup.
4) Making loud retching and gagging sounds and dumping the soup into the toilet.
5) Hiding the can opener and the empty soup can in the linen closet.
6) Bringing my mom into the bathroom, telling her I threw up, and getting out of going to school on Monday.
Memories.
*sigh*

Watching The Simpsons, X-Files and Married...With Children and then maybe the NBC Sunday Night Movie.

Then getting ready for school the next day, lame!

2. Didn't your Mom ever find the empty can and opener in the linen closet. |
|
That would never have worked with my Aunt or Grandmother.
I never really like watching Ed.
We would watch the Disney show that was on Sunday.

3. Hamburgers in front of the television. We watched Walt Disney Hour, The Irish Rovers & the |
|
Beechcombers. The only TV we were allowed that week for the most part.

4. I belly laughed at that, philboy |
|
I used to fake illness, too, when I was a boy, but you were much more creative than me.
Sunday nights were nothing special when I was a kid. I've never been much of a TV watcher. I would spend my Sunday evenings reading or listening to music.

5. *lol* You sneaky devil! I remember watching "The Wonderful World |
|
of Disney" and we almost always had popcorn and apples and cheese and it was just family night...I loved it. I still love that combo of finger food; takes me back to being 5 or 6 in a heartbeat.

6. We did the same thing with food. |
|
We watched on a B&W tv.
I liked it best in winter with the big wood burning stove going.

7. LOL! I used to crawl out my bedroom window at night and go meet friends. |
|
We never caused any trouble or had booze or anything like that. Worst we ever did was smoke cigarettes.
My step-dad's mother was staying with us once, and discovered me missing. Damned snoop! She had a shit fit with me and my parents the next day, and insisted I needed to find God. :eyes:

8. When he was 8 or 9 I taught my son how to pour a glass of water in the toilet while gagging |
|
and retching, so he could play that trick on his friends when they were within earshot of a bathroom.
Vegetable beef soup remains do not make good linen sachets.
My friends and I occasionally mixed dog kibble, ketchup, a little milk, etc., to produce fake upchuck, then dumped it on the sidewalk and hid up in the apple tree above it waiting for passersby and their reactions. :P As for getting to stay home from school, I occasionally told my mom I felt sick, then when I determined she was coming in to feel my forehead I exhaled hot breath onto my pillow and put my forehead against it.
