5. Absolutely!!!
I remember seeing Gene Hackman on the Carson show after the success of "Poseidon". He said he'd been approached about making a sequel. He asked how he could be in a sequel, when his character died in the original.

So they sent him a script. Movie starts with helicopter landing on upturned ship. Gene Hackman gets off, looks at survivors and says, "Hey, did my twin brother make it?"

Hackman, of course, said no thanks.

19. And just how were they gonna replace all of the scenery that Hackman chewed in the original?
:)

22. LOL!
Well, there was going to be new scenery. The premise of the sequel was that after the rescue helicopter picks up all the survivors, it promptly crashes on a deserted island!

Gee, I wonder why they never made that movie - it sounds so good!!!

23. Despite all of the over the top hokum of the movie...

I always find that quiet and tender scene between Shelly Winters and Jack Albertson to be truly touching. It is something sublime in the midst of all the highly entertaining nonsense of the rest of the movie.

edit: typo

9. What movie was it where Danny DeVito dies in the end?
He's cornered at gunpoint by one of the other characters (thought it was Bruce Willis, but I could be wrong about that).

DeVito says, "Don't you want to hear my last words?" The man with the gun replies, "I just did." Then he shoots him.

Heist, maybe? I can't remember.
