Greetings-
When I was in college, my best friend Venkatesh Veeraraghavan, whose father was a high ranking Congress Party Official, loved the Police. He claimed to have once jumped in a big hotel in India pool that Sting was swimming in. He couldn't keep up with him, but he attempted to swim with sinchronicity with the man himself. Something not many people can claim to have done.
"Message in a Bottle", "Canary in a Coal Mine" and "Man in a Suitcase" were some of Venk's favorite songs.
Today I am thinking about "Bombs Away in Old Bombay", which we both loved to sing and dance around to in our dorm rooms.
It's not available on the MySpace Music Player, but you can hear "Message in a Bottle on
my page today (11/27/08). Please listen to the other songs, as well.

Here are the lyrics:
Written by stewart copeland
The general scratches his belly and thinks
His pay is good but his officers stink
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet
The president looks in the mirror and speaks
His shirts are clean but his country reeks
Unpaid bills, in afghanistan hills
Bombs away
But were o.k.
Bombs away
In old bombay
The general only wants to teach france to dance
His army life doesnt give him any romance
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet
The general scratches his belly and thinks
His pay is good but his company stinks
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet
Bombs away
But were o.k.
Bombs away
In old bombay
Bombs away
But were o.k.
Bombs away
In old bombay
Bombs away
But were o.k.
Bombs away
In old bombay
Bombs away
But were o.k.
Bombs away
In old bombay
If the Indian Parliament didn't change the name of the port city of Bombay to Mumbai, I would indeed be singing this song with no need to
explain why.
