I Hereby Renounce My Co-Dependency!
I'm tired of worrying about whether someone who can't be responsible enough for themselves to set their alarm, etc. so they will get up and go to work! It's their life. I don't need to call them to make sure they did that. When did I turn into this person? I used to be that person who acted like that.

I don't want them to lose their job, screw up their life anymore than they have, and yet, I'm powerless over what the hell they choose to do or not do to get their ass out of bed, go to bed, put their kids in bed, etc.

It sure as hell is hard for me to do this...

I have to ask myself "why is it that I am in someone's life, who is an adult, trying to make sure they can do what they need to do so they don't fuck things up?"

I'm searching for my answer.

Carry on with the lounge rantings...

1. Now we're on the same playing field!
;)

I gave that power to my son when he was 16 years old.

Sink or swim and it was very hard for me to shut the hell up

BUT he rose to the occasion and he is up now every morning at 6 AM,

whether I remind him or not!! :woohoo:

It's amazing how people take responsibility for themselves, when you step away. ;)
