I am addicted to Chex Mix! |
|
Not the kind you buy in a bag, but the kind you make yourself, using the old recipe. I will eat it until I am sick.

I was thinking of starting a thread about chex mix, but thought it might be too crazy.
We are on our second triple batch since Thanksgiving. We LOVE it. Everyone in the family likes something the best. My favorite bite is four wheat chex and a cashew nut. Followed by four wheat chex and a cashew nut. Someone else likes the rice chex and the pretzels. Etc.
I don't exactly follow the recipe. I use rice chex, wheat chex, corn chex, cheese nips, pretzels, cheerios, mixed nuts, and oyster crackers, and the standard seasoning mix. Some of their newer recipes look fun, but we love the old one too much to switch.
We're getting low again. Stocked up on ingredients again today. I gotta complain that chex cereals haven't been on sale this holiday season, for some reason.

2. Sometimes I like to put Goldfish in. |
|
Either cheddar or pretzel or both. And sometimes Kix and/or spoon size shredded wheat. But then sometimes I just use the Chex!

I almost bought some for it. But I never considered goldfish, and will add them!

I would eat loads of it at my Grandma's house around the holidays.... ugh... so good. Now I don't know if there's anyone left in my family who knows how to make it that way :(

buy chex the recipe is on the box pour the stuff you want in a big pan melt butter, add seasonings drizzle and stir bake
SO EASY
Usually you'll need chex pretzels mixed nuts other add-ins you like (goldfish sounds good) butter worcestershire sauce season salt, like Lawry's onion powder (buy it in bulk if you can -- wayyyy cheaper) garlic powder (ditto)
