1. Wall-to-wall polyester |
|
I remember it well -- not fondly, but well.

2. Now the 1970s weren't all that bad... |
|
But saying "boogie" off key combined with all that wretched powder blue... :puke:

Seriously, I bet if you started a fire on your polyester shirt, it'd stick to you like napalm.:scared:

print polyester shirts and platform shoes! Clothes didn't always make the man, but I recall my husband (back then, my boyfriend) in that godawful get-up when we were out flaunting it of a Saturday night (fever).
Ladies' elephant-leg bell bottoms! I had them by the dozen. Yes, I recognized a good deal of my wardrobe from those halcyon daze, damn my eyes and bad fashion sense.

8. "Boogie" fits most of these hideous fashions quite nicely |
|
as I have blown my nose into a Kleenex and seen much more pleasant patterns!

that my life from 1976 to 1983 is sort of blank.
I think I was depressed for that period, but it keeps me from remembering the horrible clothes.

10. I was a kid in the '70's, and I remember thinking, "These are ugly |
|
clothes" ALL THE TIME.
Ugly is ugly, and the '70's fashions were the ugliest in history, bar none.

11. Me too; I remember looking back at magazines from the 1930s and 1940s |
|
and thinking "what the hell-why are fashions so butt ugly today when we could be dressing like THAT"! I tended to wear more leftover hippie stuff than "fashionable" polyester. I just couldn't stand it!
