I showed a live recording of The Specials doing "It Doesn't Make It Alright" to my stepmother and she said it was bad. It wasn't the best performance. But it isn't their best song either.

I was going through Trojan box sets looking for songs to put in a reggae mix for my dad on Rhapsody.

The one she said ripped off the Rolling Stones was "Little Bitch", which I also showed her a live recording of. It was made when they were still known as The Coventry Automatics. And yeah, I actually thought they had ripped off the Rolling Stones when I first heard it until I really listened to the "Brown Sugar" riff and found that they were different. Something about the rhythm of it.

On another off topic topic, how many Trojan box sets do you have? I thought I had a much bigger chunk until I saw the collection of them at that link of you posted above. My favorite is the Skinhead Reggae and the Reggae Sisters boxes. The Producers set is pretty good, too. The box sets are still foreign to me after spending a better portion of 90s and early 2000's trying to get all those songs on vinyl. To see them all in a box set here and there still feels weird. Do you have any of the two disc CD sets like Dancehall 69 - Skinhead Rarities or Dawning of a New Era? Those are especially good.

Carnival, Dub Rarities, Ska, Ganja...I think that's it.

Basically a Tower Records was going out of business and I went to town. They had big discounts. Progressing every day. Like one day everything would be 50% off and the next day it would be 60% off.

I'm not into the Rastafarian stuff, more like the political and soulful stuff. And dancing. The Carnival's got some neat stuff on it. There's actually a couple covers of white reggae/ska songs on it. Like "Mother and Child Reunion".
