Being sick on Christmas sucks!
My Christmas plans were all cancelled. I was supposed to go to a dinner and concert last night, a brunch this morning, and another dinner tonight. My immune system had other plans for me. 3 weeks to the day I got over a week long bout of the stomach flu, I have strep throat. x(

I posted a rant about my apartment not having heat last night. My radiators need a new part, so I checked into a hotel for the long weekend. I am suffering enough being sick, I don't want to have to suffer being cold! My fever broke this morning so I went to see "The Reader". Amazing film btw. However, walking 4 blocks exhausted me so I am in bed again.

Just ordered chicken soup and a scoop of vanilla ice cream from room service. Hopefully tomorrow I will have my voice back!

3. Don't go to movies
Don't go for walks. Don't do anything except sleep and rest. Your body needs to heal, and if you were sick three weeks ago, you've got some way to go.

I posted to you last night about your apartment - I'm the one who lived at Clark and Armitage - and I'm glad you got out of there and into a warm place.

Now, don't be silly, don't push yourself, just rest. You'll be fine. Don't be surprised if your fever comes back in the evening - they do that - but it's normal. Just stay hydrated - that's really important. Lots of water, just sip it.

You'll be all right. And don't forget - I'm sending Cousin Guido to handle that woman who was rude to you.................

4. :)
So far so good... drinking tons of water and the fever isn't back. I have a pile of books by my bed that i threw in my bag so I could have more entertainment than tv...which always makes me feel worse! The tv was muted on HBO and I looked up and there was a show about hookers. My, my my, I am totally out of the loop with tv these days. My steady diet of tivo'd Olbermann and West Wing reruns has sheltered me...eek! Not what I expect when I look up!

Luckily I am a frequent guest at this chain of hotels and I had a free night. I have been told that I can be reimbursed for the rest of the bill...and yes, I am going to fight them if they go back on it.

Thanks for sending out Cousin Guido...I might actually have a list for him! ;)
