7. Wait 45 minutes and you'll have some thundersnow... |
|
I've got it now. Also, whoever said 3-6 inches is a liar...I've got 5" now and it's supposed to snow until this evening.

18. Expect a foot at least |
|
Here's what we got overnight--from bare ground to more than a foot by this morning. I do believe this is the same system a-comin' for you... http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=8370375&mesg_id=8370375

4. Not uncommon in Buffalo, NY |
|
Just off the great lakes.
The muffled sound of thunder through snow is pretty cool.

8. Thundersnow is about as common as tornadoes on a sunny cloudless day... |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-31-08 11:24 AM by Chan790
it happens but not all that often.
ETA: Thundersnow is a lot less dangerous though. It's almost always cloud-to-cloud lightning.

9. No, you're thinking of frog-hail. |

When frogs fall from the sky, it's time to hide.
