Coming to a theater near you! I just caught the Screener and it's one of the best detective films I've seen in years. I'd describe it as "Southern Noir" from James Lee Burke's In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead with Tommy Lee Jones playing the sheriff Dave Robicheaux.

Never saw a bad Tommy lee Jones movie, and I adore the james Lee Burke Dave Robicheaux mysteries. I've always loved John Goodman, too. Tell me, does he play Clete Purcell in the movie? Oddly enough I have always visualized Clete as looking like John Goodman!
I did not know they'd made any Burke novels into movies. Happy days!!!!

James Lee Burke is a wonderful writer, and if you ever get a chance to hear him reading his own works aloud, do so!
