1. No, you don't.
You think you do, but you really don't because if you cave at this point, you're gonna be pissed off beyond words. Plus, it'll make you sick to your stomach -- you know, that icky, queasy, nasty feeling?

Find something to do with your hands. Get a little hand-held video game or something. Something to occupy your fingers and your mind until it passes.

And it will pass.

Hang in there -- three months is excellent progress -- don't give up now. Not even a teeny bit.

21. When you first quit, you notice everyone smoking
But now I hardly ever notice anyone smoking. It was like when I was a kid. There are less smokers today too.

6. My Trick When I Wanted a Smoke
Was to think, in detail, about how great it would be. Eventually my mind wandered off onto another subject.

Good for you for quitting!

16. Sunflower Seeds Helped Me
gave my hands and mouth something to do and salt plus ciggie not as appealing as something sweet and ciggie.

Hang in there...picture that nasty smoke swirling around your 3 month old, toxic free lungs. Drink lots of water, flushes out the nicotine.

18. You are in transition
That's the hardest time; when the addiction is over, but the habit is not.

When you realize that you actually have the will power to quit...

Then the little voice starts...

- Hey, you did it! Great! Now you know you can quit, if you really really want to...

So, you're safe; you can have a cigarette now because, you can quit again right afterwards....

WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!

WRONG!

Tried a nicotine patch? Cig-shaped peppermint candy?
We're behind you, just hang on. You can beat this.
Our new President did.

And tell that inner voice telling you that you need a cig to STFU.

24. Take a slow deep breath thru your mouth.
Hold it for a second or two, then exhale thru your mouth.
Repeat 2 or 3 times. You will get a buzz similar to the one from tobacco.
I quit 7 years ago, and I still do this sometimes. Hang in there.

26. Stay strong
I hope it gets easier for you. http://www.whyquit.com/ has some good tips and stories for staying quit. Also, have you replaced the cigs with something else? I've been chewing the shit out of some gum. I've only been quit for about a week and a half, but I'm determined that this will be my LAST time to quit. I still kick myself for picking them back up after quitting one time for two years! Never again!
