Can somebody explain Comcast "On Demand" to me? |
|
We're trying to decide if we want to switch back to AT&T DSL service ($24.99/month) or stick with Comcast for Broadband, even though the rate went from the promotional $29.99 to $59.99. We can get the Comcast rate down to a more reasonable one if we also get their cable TV, but we've had Dish network for years now and would have to give that up, and we use the DVR a lot.
Comcast wants $14.95/month for DVR service, while Dish Network was only $5.95/month, and we had it in two rooms. Comcast says only one room for their DVR.
But, I saw something on the Comcast website about "On Demand" TV that sounds somewhat similar to DVR, but just not as versatile?
The other problem with AT&T DSL is that it was not reliable in our area before, and is only available at their lowest speed (768 kpbs) in our area.

not everything is available on demand though, you cannot record something with just the regular non dvr comcast cable box.

2. On Demand is not a DVR service. |
|
You can't record live television, but you have access to pay per view movies/tv shows (heroes is 99 cents per episode rental) and free movies/tv shows.
