What does this HTML instruction mean?
From DU:

Text

I know my text, and how to pick color, but what the hell is code for size or face? What the heck is "face"?

4. HTML
is a computer language that tells the computer what you want it to do.

That's about all this 'blonde' can explain at this point in time and wine.

:D

6. Size is 1 to 7, 1 being the smallest for font point. Face
is the font name, such as Times New Roman.

7. The only alternate font face DU accepts that I'm aware of
is Courier. To create it, you'd type "font face=courier" in brackets and without the quotes, o' course.

It'd look like this.

Sizes go from 1 to 10. Same tag, but use "size" instead of "face" and put a number from 1 to 10 after the = in quotes.

"font color="color" size="size" face="face"]Text

That's what the DU HTML instructions said. I took out the front and back bracket.

Edit: I don't know why it won't all copy/paste.

The last part is "[/font"

12. Something no one else has mentioned
is that "Text" is simply a place holder and an example of where your text goes. Everything else is the opening and closing tags to create the effect on your "text" that you desire.

Do you understand the way to change the effects in the code now? :D

17. One of the best ways to edit html
is to use the simple Notepad program. That way you can add the tags, check over your text-message and make sure everything is just right before you copy and paste.

As for the tags, basically, you have to tell the software on the site what it is you want to do with your text, or nothing new will happen. Everything in those opening brackets is telling the messageboard software what it needs to know to make your message change fonts, color and size. Just put a space between each set of tags.

If you just copy (or write in) everything exactly as it is in the html example, you can then just replace the given bits in quotes wiht what you want. For example:

{bracket} font {space} Must start out the first string of tags.
font color="color" will change to font="red" for red text.
size="size" will change to size="1" for the smallest text.
font="face" will change to font="courier" to change your font to Courier.

You have it right for using the brackets, so just plug the rest of this into that first set of brackets and it should work. The last set with /font in brackets is just to "close" the tags set up at the beginning, so they don't spill over and change following text (I've done that some and it's always embarrassingly obvious in Preview ;))

Let us know if it still won't work, and I'll make an example you can copy from an image of the code that will work :D

In other words, it is the name of the font.

If you don't mind my asking, why do you put a dot, (.) between your first and last name? Just curious.

24. I haven't spent enough time around blonde's to learn how to speak their language

In the circle of computer literate (I hate the term 'geek') people I pal around with, we think that having a period between the words of your handle comes in handy if part of it breaks off. You still have the other half to use until you find a replacement.
