I cannot believe they snubbed Revolutionary Road... Or that DiCaprio & Winslet didn't at least get nods.
What. The. Fuck.
It was a brilliant film, and was full of brilliant performances.
Yes, I know... it was a dark film... So What! No Country was all sunshine and sparkles? Um... NO!
Fuck them. I'm not watching.
How the hell does Winslet win golden globes for actress and supporting actress and not even get the actress nod?
Just ridiculous.

1. She's not even the only one. |

Look at Bruce Springsteen -- Globe winner, no Oscar nomination. It seems to actually be a not-uncommon fate this year.

2. I can't believe the film didn't get one either. |
|
Or DiCaprio!
I understand it's a dark movie and all... but really... It makes a very powerful statement about civil rights too... Speaking about the days when a woman had to resort to giving herself an abortion, and the risks involved... Also underscores how Roe v. Wade can never be overturned.
Such a powerful movie... Just a shame.

4. "Benjamin Button" wasn't exactly sweetness 'n' light, either. |

13 nominations for a NOLA movie, and none of 'em for "Best Original Streetcar Scene", either. Oh yeah chere!

5. The fucking Reader? Are you joking? |
|
Revolutionary Road, The Wrestler, The Dark Knight, and Wall-E get snubbed in favor of shameless overambitious, over-artsy Oscar bait like The Reader?
No Springsteen?
What the hell is wrong with the foreign language film category? It has to have come out by the end of September? It has to be submitted by the country? = Let the Right One In is ineligible due to a technicality?
These nominations left a bad taste in my mouth.

The Oscars are not very good judges of what is actually good.
