important. Very important.
I get in moods every once in a while where I just HAVE to read a new Holocaust book. These things need to be kept in the public consciousness.
For a different take on those events, rent "To Be or Not To Be". There are two versions, an old one with Jack Benny and a newer one with *and made by* Mel Brooks with Anne Bancroft and a wealth of great character actors. It will make you smile and think at the same time.

La Vita è Bella http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118799/Great movie. Still quite heartbreaking, but also quite amazingly beautiful and even uplifting at times.
