Doesn't bug me in the least. I actually like shooting guns (safely at the range, please).

7. Define "loves".
Most likely no. Everyone has a passion. As long as she's not some obsessed idiot who just wanted an excuse to take a shot and hid behind an enthusiasm for firearms, then no.

I'm not about to judge someone on what they're into so long as it doesn't hurt anybody. Jesus, I steal dogs. How many women wouldn't find THAT a deal breaker.

50. It's not a problem.
As I am actively opposed to the property status of non-human animals, I would no more be upset about violating a law which reduces said animals to mere property than I would any other law I found to be completely immoral.

And actually, I find your unrepentant criminality more than slightly hot.

11. it depends
I have no interest in guns what so ever. In fact, they kind of creep me out. Still, I have friends that are into guns, and I think it's fine. If a woman I was interested in was really into guns, I would be ok with it, assuming that she was very safe about the hobby and a responsible gun owner. All of that being said, I sort of doubt that it would work if someone had any interest that I couldn't possibly be less interested in - guns being one of them.

love of guns is not a liberal vs non liberal issue for me

arming oneself to the teeth to use for a show of power to threaten minority groups is an issue for liberals to take on, well armed themselves perhaps even!

34. I just live around these freaks of nature that think
that God has proclaimed the white race as superior and they live in compounds and arm themselves to the teeth, abuse kids, abuse women, and who knows what else.

Assist terrorists from our own country to blow up kids

I don't think making guns illegal will change what they are doing... and I happen to love guns.

so maybe we should as liberals arm ourselves to protect ourselves from these crazies who someday will act on their insanities...

37. Reminds me of the film ...
Defiance, just out with Daniel Craig (Bond)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1034303/

On the run and hiding in the deep forests of the then German occupied Poland and Belorussia that was World War II, the four Bielski brothers find the impossible task of foraging for food, weapons and survival, not just for themselves but for a large mass of fleeing Polish Jews from the German war machine. The Bielski brothers, living with the fear of discovery, contending with neighboring Soviet partisans and knowing whom to trust take on the responsibility as a guardian angel that is a fascinating insight into the true events of a small independent group of defiant band-of-brothers. Consisting of women, men, children, the elderly and the young alike hiding in makeshift homes in the dark, cold and unforgiving forests in the darkest times of German occupied Eastern Europe, Defiance is a beautiful reflection of dedication, sacrifice, desperation and hope.

40. Sounds interesting
I'm sometimes very concerned with how well armed these far right crazies are... and I don't know that they won't someday make a move. I've heard some of them talk about the "race war" ahead, and that you are with us or against us.... nazi's spring up when fear is abundant. Our economic crisis is not going to fix itself quickly. It took a Naziesque Pretzeldent 8 years to destroy it, and it is (our economy) not coming back anytime soon. Layoffs, and more layoffs, and then they start looking for someone to blame.

You add the right mix of crazies, guns, fear, poverty, paranoia, and you have a recipe for some kind of disaster. Maybe regional and localized but possibly over large areas since these groups are not only found here, they are everywhere. Idaho, Montana, Michigan, and of course in the poorer areas of the south, and out in the west too. I don't know whether they are organized or not, but they are scary enough I imagine.

anyway sounds like an interesting movie, and I hope we never have to make choices to kill or be killed in our own country on any kind of scale larger than what already exists... that being too high.

Okay I'm babbling, I've had my sleeping pill and I've got to sleep

:hi:

good night

63. Yes, absolutely.
I'm not afraid of guns, but I do want to see the human race evolve to the point where guns are no longer "necessary" for any reason, even "sport". For me, it's kind of a spiritual mindset, that owning one "attracts" that which people are afraid of. Perhaps a sporting use of a gun wouldn't attract the fears associated with those that use one for defense, but I choose not to have them in my life and thus, not attract the associated fears :)

If the woman I loved was into guns, there likely would be heated arguments about how that fits in with our spiritual ideas and hopefully come to a compromise, such as no guns on the property and just rent (if that's possible) for the sporting uses. Or do the paintball thing instead ;)

My wife calls herself a conservative Republican, but she despises guns and won't have them in the house. Fine by me. There is nothing about owning a gun that would make my life better than with not owning a gun.

I posted a reply similar to this a few years ago, and someone, I forget who, spent several follow-up replies trying to convince me that I NEED a gun; that everybody needed guns. Had to wonder how much the NRA was paying him to evangelize... :eyes:
