Gjajkfljdslajlf; jgfl ajsdfkljaskldjfklsadjdlkfjalskjkl1j1 when I was in Norway years ago.
I'd appreciate you not using his name like that.
Thanks.
Maybe it was Iceland.

3. This isn't exactly the same, but I washed a Benadryl down with a glass of wine once. |
|
I don't scare easy, and I love my Benadryl but I was pretty sure that if I laid down, I would die.

6. Benadryl is part ephedrine - that's an upper |

If alcohol has a magnification effect, that would explain it.
As well as my equation...

12. As part of my treatment with a blood product years ago, |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-09-10 08:20 PM by kimi
I used to get Benadryl IV prior to treatment. It should have been given by slow IV push, 50 milligrams over 5 minutes. Even then, it gave a very weird, kind of slammed-between-the-eyes feeling, and a metallic taste in the mouth, and a stinging sensation in the vein all the way up my arm. Once, I had the misfortune to get a nurse who had no clue, and she just pumped that stuff in, quick as a blast. I honestly had never feared for my life in a hospital before - hell, I was a nurse - but I thought I was going to f*&king die, and couldn't say a word, cause I was paralyzed by the med. It hurt, and felt like an axe hit me right between the eyes. I was awake and immobile for hours, my heart beating out of my chest but I couldn't move. Scariest 3 hours ever. After that, I always stopped the nurse before she gave it, and reminded her of how to administer it - didn't care how wimpy I sounded.
Benadryl is not as benign as it seems, IMO.

9. For true pain relief, try 5/500 Vicodin + 1 mg Ativan |
|
I may still be in pain, but I just don't care. Bonus: no risk of liver damage.

14. Both vicodin and alcohol are central nervous system depressants. |
|
Among their other effects, both have the effect of depressing the central nervous system, leading to reduced heart rate, slowing breathing rate, sometimes loss of consciousness and in cases of overdose, even coma or death. So it's dangerous to use 2 drugs which both have that effect, as it's similar to overdosing on just one drug that has that effect. So you should just use one or the other, and follow instructions on the bottle, especially all those little stickers the pharmacy adds to the bottle. I believe the vicodin bottle probably says do not use alcohol when using vicodin, and you would probably not want to use any other drug that is a central nervous system depressant at the same time as vicodin either, for example sleeping pills/antihistamines like Benadryl, or really anything else that says "may cause drowsiness." It's too dangerous to combine drugs, it effectively becomes an overdose (at least an overdose of side effects) and that's why those stickers are there. So be careful!

Combined, the drugs enhance the effects of each other.
However, they both depress the respiratory system. Very easy to kill yourself using that combination of drugs.

16. I think it was Christmas season... |
|
. ...1974 in Nurnberg Germany where Quaaludes were cheap and pretty much over the counter meds. . Though I've never been a big fan of any kind of downs, on this rare occasion I had done two 'ludes and two "Christmas Beers" -- a special limited edition put out by the big Nurnberg brewery, Tucher (no, not the Butt Tucher -- it's pronounced "TOO-ker"). Shit beer. Primo 'ludes. (Hey, even GERMANY puts out some pretty crappy beer sometimes.) . Hangin' out in the Dispensary and passed out in a chair watching TV. Woke up, stood up, and found myself literally nose-to-nose with someone in an MP uniform. Though I had no way of knowing this, he had just stopped in to say hi. . The (unmedicated) medic on duty at the time told me later that it looked like I was PHYSICALLY gathering all my wits about me. I looked the MP straight in the eye, mumbled "Fucking Christmas beer" and fell back in my chair, out like a light again. . "You were," he told me later. "fucking outSTANDING!!!" . . . . . . I had to take his word for that. .
