How did I miss the whole radiohead thing? |
|
I have of course heard creep long before and was quite attached to it. But I totally missed their other albums. No longer, I downloaded The Bends and OK Computer from amazon. (No DRM) and I have to say they are just remarkable works. I must have had my head up my kazoo all these years.

1. Their albums are all gems. |
|
Amnesiac is their weirdest and most experimental overall, but still good.
The Bends is halfway between experimental and mainstream which makes it accessible but still gorgeous.
OK Computer expands upon The Bends and improves upon it.
Kid A is heads more in the direction of Amnesiac...it's experimental and very moody. Still one of my favorites. 'Motion Picture Soundtrack' is one of the saddest and most beautiful songs every written.
With 'Hail to the Thief' their music heads more back in the direction of The Bends and OK Computer.
In Rainbows to me is very much like The Bends. This, to me, is a good thing, as In Rainbows is probably my favorite Radiohead album along with the Bends.
But it's hard for me to choose a favorite.
As for a favorite song by them... All I Need, Motion Picture Soundtrack, Street Spirit (Fade Out), Black Star, Fake Plastic Trees, Knives Out, Optimistic, Morning Bell, A Wolf At the Door, Reckoner, Paranoid Android, Let Down...
I could go on and on.

I plan to go in order, sequential. Nice to know their other albums are worth a go...

3. It's good to go in order. Amnesiac might put you off... |
|
as it is their weirdest album... and probably my least favorite of theirs, but I still love it.
'Life in a Glass House' is simply brilliant and justifies the entire album.
