So I am watching Metropolitan.... |

Oh Jesus is this a over rated pile of crap. I remember everyone who was anyone was just raving about how good this movie was and I had never seen it.
The mindless utters of the idle rich twenty-somethings on their incestuous world of the Upper East Side.
Yikes is this full of bad acting, bad writing and filled with cliches.
I don't know how much I can linger to see if this gets any better.
I want to call the cable company and ask for this portion of my cable money back...
"He met her when he came to town for the Regatta..."
That's about the extent of the dialog.

1. I liked it because I could sort of relate |

I grew up regular middle class Catholic - public schools, state university. But in my late 20s, around the time this movie came out, I started dating a boy who was Old Money, and he introduced me to an old blue-blood WASP world I didn't really know existed. It was an interesting time for someone who grew up with fire hall weddings, hanging with people who had debuts and trust funds.
I normally fit in anywhere, but always felt like a visiting anthropologist with these people - I read somewhere that only Hasidim and Amish inter-marry more than old WASP families.
