Seriously, Chris Frantz is one of the most underrated drummers of all-time
He never makes the Lists of great drummers.

Watch this clip from the 1980 Remain in the Light tour. Pay attention to the drums and tell me he wasn't fucking amazing.

I dare you.

I double dog dare you.

And don't even think about saying "Who the the hell is Chris Frantz?"

2. Did you watch the fucking video?
Watch it and then do yourself a favor and watch Stop Making Sense.

The Talking Heads weren't just a bunch of art freaks.

They were great musicians.

I just tried to play drums on the Talking Heads Rock Band video game track pack.

Fucking impossible.

3. Whoa, calm down...
...I watched it, yes. I was just making a joke, since I honestly hadn't heard of him before your post.

Breathe deep, relax...

5. By having a very narrow taste in music.
My taste was formed in the 70's and 80's and hasn't changed one iota since: Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Rush (up to 1980 or 1981), Foghat, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, and guitar-based blues such as you'd hear from Albert Collins. I have absolutely no use for anything else. Truth be told, when they were passing out love of all things music I pretty much skipped the appointment.

7. Second that. The Talking Heads rhythm section is vastly underrated.
Tina and Chris could lock the groove with the best of 'em IMHO.

11. yes, this is true- the non flashy players (and drummers) tend to be unfairly
over-looked. But they kept a great groove!

14. I never let facts ruin my rants
I just didn't remember seeing his name on lists of Greatest Rock Drummers.

Of course, now that I think about, I'm not sure I've ever read any lists of Greatest Rock Drummers.

Sue me.
