ARGH!!! My package has been lost! |
|
According to Airborne Home tracking, my amazon.com package (the two new Dr Who DVD discs) was confirmed on 3 July (only says the city that I live in, no further details are given). However neither the landlady nor the mailroom at work say they got the package.
Where do I go from here, or do I just re-order? My other packages arrived, via UPS, at the work mailroom office. Strange that this one package would be Airborne, but amazon.com has used UPS, Airborne, and even the postal service before...

Given my recent history on DU (combined with some others' posts), it's easy to make such a mistake!

4. Here's what you need to do |
|

First, find out from Amazon customer service if you need to do the footwork or if they will.
If you need to do it, get the tracking # and Airborne 1-800# from them. Call Airborne and ask for all delivery details. There should be a record of a signature, time & location. If not, they can put in a claim and start an investigation to figure out what happened. If it's their fault, they will pay for it, if Amazon had it insured.
Hopefully, Amazon will do all of this, since it was sent on their shipping account.

They are looking into it, but according to their records my post office did get it on July 3.
I called the post office. God a rather rude person who, upon asking her if they had any packages in my name, curtly said "Why would we hold any packages?" and then ask for my address without giving me a chance to explain the bloody obvious as to why they might be holding a package, duh! Halfway through my street address (not even getting to my city), she said I was calling the Bayport branch and I should call 1-800-...-.... for the main location. (um, I called the right branch, there's only one local post office I know of that's on 3rd street...)
Maybe she was having a bad day, but from a customer's viewpoint (who happens to be in a customer service-related job) she's not worth half her salary or benefits she gets. I mean, people who murder usually do so because they had events which led to a bad day and people don't give them sympathy - as if they deserve it - so why should I rationalize for her benefit?
