I am trying to put the chat software back in my computer...and when I try to put chat into my computer..it just sits there. I have heard it being a pain in the ass before....but I thought someone might know what is up with it.

I had that problem, too, a couple months back when I upgraded to XP. I don't know how I fixed it, I just fooled around with the computer, kicked it a few times, swore a lot, and somehow it works now!

if so it could be 3 things
1. Corrupt installation (try again) remember we are dealing with microsoft
2. Turn Windows Messenger off.... Check your system tray.
3. Check to see what else is in your system tray... any P2P like Kazaa? turn it off before you message...
Or, get Trillian.
