Air America on the Internet? What's with that? I listen to some Pacifica stuff and am not required to divulge any info about myself. Granted they don't ask much but some may not like it.

They need stats for advertisers. That's why they ask for age and zip code. That's the way it works, pretty harmless, less info than Yahoo or hotmail wants, and for the same reason - marketing. AA accepted my web e-mail address, which is less than some message boards out there demand.

a password.
I understand why we must register but also understand there are some who are warry of doing so.
They ask for the same type of stuff the Washington Post asks before you are taken to an article.
Also, I WANT them to know there are people in St Louis whose only option of hearing Air America is on the Internet.

6. It doesn't bother me....I use hotmail address for that stuff. |
|
Word to everyone....keep a hotmail address JUST for online registration and never give you good email address online and magically you hardly get any spam in the address you really care about.
As for the hotmail, log on about once a week and dump the shit.

7. I have no problem with them knowing my Zip Code |
|
If there are enough of us, then we might get an actual FM station that carries the show. I would assume that, and the need to demonstrate real users to advertisers is the function of the registration.

9. I don't mind registering, but |
|
I did it several days ago but never got the "code." Now, I just tried registering again and timed out. We have a T1 line here, so it's not like I'm on dialup. I'll keep trying, but this is a bit frustrating.

18. Other Web Sites Were Complaining Too |
|
I suppose Air America took the server down until it could be fixed.
One site reported that the AM station at 620 KHz was running Windows Media Player and didn't require registration.
