I've done my good deed for the day - have you?
It feels so good to help someone.

This morning a realtor brought someone to look at our house. When we got home from school and work we found a gold bracelet in the driveway. I figured one of those two people must have lost it. Fortunately the realtor had signed the showing register and left her phone number, so I called and left her a message that we'd found the bracelet. An hour or so later the lady who'd looked at the house called and was extremely emotional; it had been her late mother's bracelet. She drove about 20-30 miles to get here to pick up the bracelet this evening and was most emotional and grateful. She had just received the bracelet and wasn't used to wearing it yet, so she wasn't aware she'd lost it until later.

Having lost both parents myself, I know how much sentimental value such items have, and I feel so good to have helped this lady.

1. Well done!
I haven't done a good deed today, unless you consider cooking dinner. I even called in sick today and I could've gone in. I needed a mental health day in the worst way. I may even take another tomorrow.

3. only problem is the benefits evaporate
as soon as I get to my desk upon my return.

At this point the only thing that'll probably REALLY help my mental outlook is a new job. :)

5. I helped a disabled person down a flight of stairs
because installing an elevator is enough for the Americans with Disabilities Act. Never mind if it works or not. :eyes:
