Anyone Here Heard Of A Band Called 'Modest Mouse' ? |
|
I just picked up their new cd and I have to say, this thing is phenominal.
It sounds like Neil Young fronting the Talking Heads (or U2, depending on what song you're listening to).
Am I the only guy who's heard of this band?
If you haven't, go check it out, the album is called "Good News For People Who Love Bad News" and it's $7.99 at Best Buy.
The hit song they're playing on the radio right now is called "Float On."

1. Uh, they've been around quite a while. |
|
:hi:
Their new CD is FREAKING AWESOME. Your other CDs will be jealous of it.
I saw them at South by Southwest, but a friend of mine has been a fan for years and years.

3. I think since the mid 90's or so...... |
|
At least that's when they first started recording. They have 2 indie albums out and this new one is their second major label album.
Their lead singer is a bit of a loose cannon from what I've heard. One of these genius visionary types.

I think their first full-length CD was 1996.

2. Yeah, great band but an aquired taste... |
|
At least their first 3 albums were.
Their 2000 album The Moon and Antarctica has just been remastered and re-issued with some bonus tracks. It's a great, sweeping, indie rock epic.
Haven't heard the new one but I'm thinking about picking it up.
