1. My team won 3-1 (Wings over Predators)
I was scared for a couple of periods, however.

Adding more to the victory, the Tigers won their first three games!

2. Who needs the Playoffs?
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 12:39 PM by Cush
The Caps won the Draft Lottery! Lol, a crappy season pays off.

Gets this kid a Caps jersey!

I have family in the Pacific NorthWest (US), so I wouldn't mind seeing the Canucks win it. But because of the 'firesale', odds are at least one Former Cap will get his name on the Cup.

5. Have any of the Calgary DUers reacted to you yet, HEy HEY?
Of course, I moved to Calgary from Vancouver anyway, so I'm not a Flames fan. I believe in supporting the team nearest to where you were born, which to me would be...hmmm...the habs.

Just kidding, when I watch hockey, I follow the Canucks.

But lived in MD for the first 29. They've grown quite nicely but I haven't followed them much this year ironically. I just read today that Hockey News picked Martin St. Louis for the Hart Trophy.

edit: got my math wrong...lol

29. So are you gonna root for the Lightning?
They are a good team, great goals for and against, and good plus/minus. Maybe later in the playoffs we can have a small wager. We could bet anything. How the heck are you?:hi:

32. Hey, how are you?
Well, I thnk it's better than rooting for the Caps. :) The only problem the Lightening really have is their goaltending which can be inconsistent at times. Both have a GAA of over 2 which can hurt in the playoffs. How about Martin St. Louis with a +35? Unbelievable.

They have had a great year and I think they'll go far but they may get stuck if they run into Ottawa or Philly but I think they've finally figured out how to counter New Jersey's trapping style of play. I'm rooting for them.

I'm not doing too bad. A little stressed and trying to get my sugar back in line. The summers here are bad for my diabetes. It's gonna be 90 here again soon.

34. Good morning
In my hockey pool, if my partner and I had first pick we were going to get St. Louis - but we got third pick so we took Markus Naslund. Which is okay too - after all I am a huge Canucks fan, have been for years, and years, and years. hehehe. But I certainly am pulling for TB to beat NJD because I hate the Devils. Not really hate - but you know.

So for a while we can root for the same team - cool :-)

It is a beautiful morning here- sunny, warm. I can't even imagine what a 90 degree day in April is like. It must be hell!!!! It will be about 65 to 70 here today which is nice.

I'm going out to the care home today to see my Mom - she had a bad stroke a few years ago and can't do anything for herself. So it's kind of sad when I go there. My mother was a tall stately red-headed woman who walked everywhere and was so intellectually superior to most people. And now she's in bed most days or in her wheel chair and talks to my Dad - who's been dead for a long time. Oh well life goes on.

After we see how the hockey playoffs go - let's see if we can have a small wager - maybe 5.00 or something like that? Are you a gambler?

;-) :hi:

But if the Canucks get there and Detroit doesn't (a real possibility) I would make a safe bet on the Canucks. :)

Sorry to hear about your Mom, my grandmother was like that too. It's not the easiest thing in the world seeing a person like that go. Strokes do that to you. My grandmother had a series of small ones before she died.

Nice to hear from you. :hi:

36. It's always pleasant to hear from you.
In fact today, it made my morning happier.

Are you doing anything exciting on this Easter weekend? I think I'm going to go to Campbell River and maybe go fishing with my sister. She's the only woman guide at one of the lodges up there and she is an excellent guide - better than most of the men. I just like to go in the boat and drive around. Fishing has been such a part of our growing up that I could care less if I ever saw another salmon, although it's always exciting when you catch something.

One thing I do want to do in my life is come to Florida and go big fish fishing - does that make sense?

Once in Hawaii, when my husband was still alive, we went fishing and caught a 750 pound swordfish. I wanted to let it go - I figure anything that has made it that big should be left the hell alone.B-) ;-)

37. There's a Styx concert here
and I'm kinda debating whether I should go.(Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto :) ) Either that or I'll go to the beach.

I haven't gotten the chance to do any deep sea fishing here yet and haven't done it since I did that on a trip with some friends at Cape Charles, VA when I was 16. Talk about being sunburnt. We did get a 48lb black drum and we doled out the fish evenly between us. I ate for a month on that. They do have places where you can rent a boat with a guide to go out in the Gulf.

I think the best fishing here is in the lakes. They keep them stocked pretty good you just have to watch for the gators and sinking in the muck. :) I love fishing but I like to fish in the mountains much better.

I would looooove to fish in a lake where there were gators - just so I could see one. I would not, however, drag my hand in the water!!!

39. Ok,you do the same.
I love this time of year for hockey cause they work their asses off on the rink. I'll be here and will look for ya tonight.

I would love to go fishing with you. The gators don't bother you much unless they've been fed by people and then the way to escape them is to run zigzag cause they don't turn well.

31. And the rioting. Don't forget the rioting.
What with all the breaking glass and the smashing of things and all the yelling and erratic driving and the flipping over of and setting fire to cars. Not to mention the fun of checking the Vancouver Sun to see whether any of your friends/coworkers/shady acquaintences are amongst the wanted fugitives caught on the surveillance cameras wreaking havoc and engaging in hooligaism...

25. Yeah, until SJC scored
As I'm an STL fan, kind of ruined the whole thing for me. Remember, no OT loss 1-point consolation prize in the playoffs.

The way we played, we deserved that consolation prize, too. We had 6 pp (and played most of them very well), IIRC, all kinds of chances...but nothing went in.

A confession: I watched it on Faux Sports Net.

I know, I know, I'm an evil freeper traitor/troll, but Faux has announcers with an STL bias. This I appreciate.

However, I don't watch Faux PropagandaLiesNews. My roommate was watching this filth when I came in, and I asked him if I could watch the hockey game--better FSN than Faux "News" Channel.

Edit for punctuation
