Wow! I almost shaved my head! |
|
I was just finishing washing my hands after using the bathroom, and I just pulled a razor out of the drawer and started shaving off what I guess you could call my bangs. About five seconds into it, I just stopped myself and thought "What the hell?"
It was totally out of the blue and random. And I'd look damn screwed up with a shaved head, so I'm glad I stopped.
Does anyone (particularly with an M.D. and specializing in psychiatry... ehhh?) know why I might have done this?

I think you are probably insane and should be committed...(sarcasm)
But seriously...a little bizarre. I think you should hide all of your knives.

2. I shaved a full beard on impulse one night... |
|
...perhaps you feel you need a change in your life...I certainly looked different, and people treated me in a different way, even after I stopped compulsively licking my upper lip.

6. I did that about five years ago.... |

First haircut in decades. Shaved off a mid-back length ponytail. My SO and I were going to the desert in Baja for a month or so and I was tired of having dirty hair when freshwater was in short supply. Major error. I hated it. It's grown back now, but the regrowth process sucks.

I just decided I'd let my hair grow out longer than usual a few weeks ago. I wonder if this is some sort of weird subconscious protest of that.

Especially if you haven't done it before. It is great. A couple of years ago, I hadn't got my hair cut in a while, and was just tired of it being 'shaggy' so I did it. It was great. With hair, you forget all the sensations you are missing from your scalp. I looked bad with it, and it grew back a little while later. It is worth experiencing atleast once...Kevin.

I was on a long hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail in Va. I stopped at a mountain resort hotel for my every-other-week-bath. It started to rain, and it was already cold. I couldn't face going back to hike in the cold rain so I ended up staying in this place for a few days. Got bored. Took a dull razor to my head, hacked it off as best I could - I was a little bloody after. Didn't look all that great. I'm a bit thin on top as it is, always thought I should try it. I think I look better close cropped but not shaven. Shaved always seemed a little vain or fastidious to me.

10. I did something like that once. |
|
When I was in grad school, I had not cut my hair for about 3 years and had grown a full beard. I woke up one morning with a pounding hangover, staggered to the mirror, and muttered to myself "You look like Jesus effin Christ".
Lopped off almost two feet hair and cut the beard off as well. Then I walked down to the corner haircut place, and asked the owner if she could send my hair to one of those "cancer kids". (I didn't know that it was called Locks of Love at the time) I then got a military-style flattop.
I never grew it long again after that.

You know that when you're hungover you're still drunk, right?

Some of my best decisions have been made when I was drunk or hungover. Yeah, some of my worst too.
