a linux distribution question....
Figured I'd ask this on DU because it's less likely to start a flame war (but equally less likely to produce many response, no doubt).

Does anyone have experience with Debian or Rock Linux? I've been a Linux user since 1997. I've used Slackware, Redhat, SuSE, and Mandrake distros. I'm currently running Fedora Core 1 on my home machines and SuSe 8.2 on my office/lab computers. I have a working Linux From Scratch partition just for fun on one of my home office machines, so I'm not a newby.

I'm planning to experiment with Debian on one machine this summer. The idea of a custom distribution, built and updated from source as a night time cron job is REALLY attractive. God knows that dependencies aside I don't use half the stuff installed in /bin.

Any Deb testimonials or cautions out there?
