UK Stop the War Coalition prepares for Bush London visit |
|
Following last night's televised coverage of London Mayor Ken Livingstone's remarks that he would be marking Bush November state visit with a protest dinner at City Hall, a number of organisations are gearing up to commemorate the event in their own inimical style: The Stop the War Coalition: http://www.stopwar.org.uk/resources.asphttp://www.stopwar.org.uk/Resources/wanted.pdf

1. Bush visit to Britain 19th - 21st November |
|
Yes, the worm is coming to Britain in late November and we're all ready to provide a cold welcome!
There's a range of events being planned, including a demo in Central London, and non violent civil disobedience actions in Edinburgh and Glasgow - all designed to tell Bush to go home! I've even heard rumours there will be a mass mooning, so altogether sounds quite interesting.
I'll post the link to the Stop the War site again, it's www.stopwar.org.uk
All the best

4. Bush and Blair running scared now! |
|
Well, seems all the rumours about the protests have Bush and Blair frightened! I've been reading today that a planned triumphant parade involving Bush and the Queen has been cancelled because of protestors plans, also Bush was going to give a speech to the British houses of Parliament, that's also now been cancelled because they were worried quite a lot of the MPs would walk out. Another bit of news is that Bush isn't going to be travelling by road, he's going to travel everywhere by helicopter!
Seems they're very worried by all the plans anyway! The upside of this of course is that the Bush regime won't be able to use any shots taken during any of the planned parades or speeches for any publicity campaigns, or the reelection campaign, and that's not going to please those back in the US who desperately want some good publicity and images of the warmonger to show that the British back Bush (which of course we don't)!
